Galen University

Galen University is an independent, community-oriented university in Belize, Central America with sustainable development as one its core values. Galen University is chartered and recognized by the Ministry of Education of The Government of Belize to offer undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees. About 95 percent of the students attending Galen University are Belizeans students seeking bachelors and MBA degrees. The remainder are students participating in a study abroad program at Galen University.

Galen offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs as well as study abroad opportunities, including semester and summer programs. The mission of Galen University is to provide excellence in education, incorporate the issues of sustainable development across the curriculum and prepare students to achieve their dreams and goals.

In the summer of 2005, the University of Indianapolis and Galen University partnered to offer University of Indianapolis degree programs at Galen University in Belize in Anthropology, Archaeology, Business and Environmental Science. Majors offered in business currently include economics, international business, marketing and general business administration. Degree programs follow University of Indianapolis academic guidelines and offer enhanced coursework available in this unique location. Completion of an introductory course in Sustainable Development is required in all programs.

The University of Indianapolis programs offered at Galen University in Belize fall under the University of Indianapolis accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Admitted students receive a University of Indianapolis transcript and diploma upon satisfactory completion of coursework and degree requirements.
