| _____ | Obtain Study Abroad budget from Breezy Anne Wente. Meet with Financial Aid Advisor in the Office of Financial Aid to find out if you are eligible for financial aid. |
| _____ | Apply for Study Abroad Travel Grant (PDF). See grant application for deadlines. (If you plan to study in the summer or fall semesters the deadline is the end of March, spring semester the deadline is the end of October). |
| _____ | Contact your Key Academic Advisor and obtain a list of courses you still need to complete your UIndy degree. Have Key Academic Advisor fill out Academic Approval for Study Abroad (PDF) and then return to Breezy Anne Wente. Also, go over what courses you will be taking when you get back and have them written down to take with you (you will have to email them to your advisor/Breezy/the Registrar's Office when the dates come up for registration - this will happen while you are abroad). |

| _____ | Obtain or renew your passport (Can be done at your local post office - pictures can be taken for a lesser expense at Walgreens or CVS). |
| _____ | Look into visa requirements for the country you are going. Discuss this with Breezy before leaving. |
| _____ | Check with your current health insurance provider regarding overseas coverage and limitations. |
| _____ | Purchase study abroad health insurance if coverage is not provided
by current health insurance or study abroad program. (Look into
ISIC International ID card - through Breezy) *Insurance - All students are required to have insurance coverage while studying abroad. If you need a supplemental policy to cover you while abroad the following are examples of policies for student's studying abroad: |
